This is such an exciting time to be a Project Manager – we are so lucky to be watching real and lasting economic and social change take shape before us…new markets, new technologies, new opportunities and challenges, new customer expectations – all daring us to challenge our “old thinking” and find newer, more personal and creative ways to deliver for our stakeholders and teams.
Please enjoy my guest post, written for Knowledge Train, in which I talk about how I love seeing Social Media at the forefront of this movement, reshaping the Project Management landscape by forcing us to stay relevant by thinking about how we connect with our people.
How well do we connect with our clients?
How quickly do we respond?
Do we understand their needs?
How do we give them a sense of attachment?
A new paradigm. “Social Project Management”.
No longer can we simply measure our success by the “old” scope/time/cost model; Social Media is changing the way we communicate, raising the expectations of our teams and customers. Social Project Management means that we now need to measure our success through blending “engagement” into our traditional scope/time/cost thinking.
I hope you enjoy it and I’d love to hear what you think. Please do take a moment to send me your thoughts.
